The service, food, and ambiance are on point. Highly recommend this place. Went back for seconds the day after our first time here.

Went for lunch last week. And ordered the Lunch special. Bento box with Teriyaki Salmon, and Tempura, which is is a two item choice. It came with Miso soup, and a small salad. Tempura was generous pietion of Two shrimps, two gyozas, and vegees. ***The lunch was good except the Teryaki sauce on the Salmon is mild in flavor. And looked like it was just poured onto the Salmon. No grill flavor. My Grandson ordered the Salmon Roll, inside and out. A great portion. But needed some seasoning. They serve a variety if Sushi rolls also. Service was good. It's a small cafe. Small * booth style walls with Chairs for seating.

Stopped into Ichibon for lunch. We were quickly and warmly greeted and seated in our choice of a booth, table, or at the sushi bar. We ordered a shashimi dish off their special menu and a Rock n' Roll roll. The Rock n' Roll was attractively plated. The generous roll was cut into twelve pieces, which was nice, without having to fit large pieces in our mouth with every bite. The fish was fresh and of excellent quality. Today's special menu listed a chef's special, "Sashmi Delight," which was a pile of shashimi over a dome of shredded daikon radish covered in various sauces. The shashimi seemed lost in this creation, and the sauces were excessive. Next time, I will order a regular sashmi or bento. The service was quite good, the premises were very clean, and the ambiance of the restaurant was appropriate.

Best sushi in town and it's not even close! I've tried every restaurant in Santa Maria and it's usually sub par fish quality and overpriced but this hit the spot! Great service, server got lost a little towards the end but friendly faces and very fast service! Nigiri combo 8pcs- the menu must be old because we got 11 and last time my wife got the same amount. All the fish was top notch, rice to fish ratio pretty spot on and the flavor just perfect! Quick test is the salmon nigiri, usually it's tough or just fishy but this melts in your mouth! If the salmon is good usually the rest is as well! Rock and roll roll- took this one home but it was just as good! They really take care of the fish and it shows! The pricing is actually great for the quality of fish, and the rolls are as much as anyone else in town selling premium rolls! If you like sushi, come here! Very hopeful that the chefs do an omakase for whatever set price you have because that would be amazing!

We are so pleased to become acquainted with Ichiban! New friendly and hard-working owner Family-run.. Updated decor. Very clean facilities. Courteous and efficient staff. High quality fish. Great tasting rolls. Had a wonderful experience. We're so glad to have an authentic, delicious, and beautiful sushi restaurant. Ichiban has been here for 20 years plus and the new owner of 4 months is going to take it to new heights. Also, for an extra charge, you can reserve a private room if you please. Can't wait to go back.
